Since the 1660s, Neratov has been a well-known pilgrimage site. It became one after the parish priest from Rokytnice had a venerated statuette of the Virgin Mary carved according to his dream.
The original wooden church was rebuilt in 1723 into the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, most likely constructed according to the plans of G. B. Alliprandi. During World War II the church burned down; the fire destroyed the roof, the wooden staircase, the clock mechanism, and the bell. Later, the waterlogged vaults also collapsed and the church was slated for demolition. Fortunately, it did not happen due to a lack of funds to carry it out, and in 1989 the church was entered on the list of cultural monuments. At first, services were held in the church under the open sky; later, renovation took place and the current partially glazed roof was built, which completes the atmosphere of the place and makes the church unique.
